FRIENDS OF THE FLOCK
This too shall pass.
Until it does, you can show your love and support for our animals by becoming a
FRIEND OF THE FLOCK.
and bunnies too!
The pandemic hit most businesses very hard, especially those serving the restaurant industry. Many of us are still recovering from that sudden loss of business and impact to the future of the industry we served. The Cook's Garden is no exception but there are ways that you can help.
We have always been committed to giving our flock a "forever" home despite the fact that they stop laying around year 4-5. You can help us reduce this major cost by making a cash donation (one-time or recurring), contributing to our long-range fundraising or purchasing organic feed and supplies on our behalf. Here’s how…
DONATIONS FOR GENERAL ONGOING CARE
Your ongoing support for costs of maintaining the health and welfare of our sanctuary is vital to our ability to remain open to our community to rescue and adopt animals who are abandoned or whose owners can no longer care for them. Here is a breakdown of our monthly costs:
Feed $300 Hay/Treats $175 Vitamins/feed supplements $25 Bedding/Straw $200
Vet Visits/Meds/Vaccines/Neuter/insurance ~ (so far 2024) $5950
Rent for rescue area ~ $550 Volunteer care ~ Priceless
Please donate whatever you can to offset these ongoing costs. We welcome any donation - one-time or recurring. Click on the button below to donate. Thank you.
CASH DONATIONS
You can use Venmo to make easy cash donations by scanning the QR code on the right.
For donations over $100, we’ll give you and your family a private tour inside the chicken run for an “up close and personal” experience with our flock.
For donations over $500, you and your immediate family (up to 4 people) will join us for a “Bunny Happy Hour” watching our warren play and frolick in the early evening while enjoying light nosh and beverages.
You can also choose to donate to our on-going GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to make ongoing upgrades and repairs t0 our current coop and bunny bungalow at The Cook’s Garden. We’ve raised a bit over $3300 so far which allowed us to put a new roof on the coop, make coop repairs and build a new bunny bungalow for our adopted and rescued bunnies.
We are also working toward building a new The Cook’s Garden small animal sanctuary at Westminter Elementary School where we will relocate our animals when the hotel project breaks ground on our block in 2026/27. Our goal for that project is $10,000. Go to gofundme.com/raisethecoop to donate or use the Venmo QR code above.
